Guard Cat - Ward's Island

Not all the creatures on Ward's Island were watching people while I was there a week ago. This orange tabby was sound asleep above a gate leading into one of the cottages and he paid no attention to me at all. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had opened the gate below him!

It's always amazing to me that cats are able to sleep just about anywhere! He's a beautiful cat.

Cute catch! Though I suspect he would have yawned.

Gotta love the balance seen here. That cat knows just exactly what he/she is all about!

It's difficult to stay awake when you're lying in the sun. However, cats are gods, so it is likely that, though he appears asleep, he was very aware of you and your camera and was actually ready to pounce in a second's notice.

Well, it is too possible!
